Six shops, two regions, one job — getting you on the right bike

There's a limit to what a product page can tell you. Geometry charts and spec sheets are useful, but they can't tell you how a bike feels when you swing a leg over it, how the assist responds pulling out of a driveway, or whether the step-thru frame is the one that finally makes riding feel easy again. That takes a shop, a floor, and someone who has ridden the bike in the same rain you ride in.

Cit-E Cycles has been doing that work in British Columbia since 2011. They're one of our longest-standing retail partners, and with six locations spanning the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island, they're the most likely place for a rider in southwestern BC to meet an OHM in person.

A shop that grew the way the category did

Cit-E started as a single storefront at a time when most bike shops still treated electric bikes as a curiosity. Fifteen years later they operate six locations across BC, carry a deep multi-brand selection, and have built a service department around the reality that an e-bike is a drivetrain, a battery, and a computer as much as it is a bicycle.

That trajectory matters to us. We've spent twenty years refining bikes for riders facing real conditions — Vancouver rain, bridge crossings, hills that make a standard commute a decision rather than a habit. Cit-E has spent fifteen years explaining that difference to riders across the same terrain. When a customer walks in unsure whether they want a commuter, a touring bike, or something they can load groceries onto, the answer comes from someone who has fitted hundreds of riders with the same question.

They also stock what they sell. Preassembled bikes on the floor, ready to ride, is not a small operational commitment — but it's the difference between imagining a bike and riding one.

Lower Mainland locations

Four Cit-E shops serve the Lower Mainland, and each one covers a distinct riding reality.

• Vancouver (Kitsilano) — 3155 W Broadway. The west side shop, and the one closest to the seawall network. This is the store for riders whose daily route involves bike lanes, bridge decks, and the calculation of whether it's faster to drive. If you live between Point Grey and downtown, this is your test ride.
• North Vancouver — 221 Esplanade W. On the Esplanade, minutes from our own Experience Center at Harbourside. North Shore riders face the toughest version of the question every e-bike has to answer: can it get me home up the hill, in the rain, without turning the ride into a workout I didn't ask for. This is the shop that answers it with terrain rather than a brochure.
• Port Moody — 3030 St Johns St. Serving the Tri-Cities, Coquitlam, and Burnaby. Longer suburban distances, the Shoreline Trail, and commuters who need range that holds up on a round trip rather than a one-way.
• Langley (HQ) — 101B, 9355 198 Street. The head office and the largest floor. Worth the drive if you want to compare several bikes side by side in one visit. It also serves riders across Surrey, Cloverdale, Fort Langley, and out toward Abbotsford, where the Fraser Valley's flat, long routes reward a bike that's comfortable for an hour rather than fifteen minutes.

Vancouver Island locations

Two Cit-E shops now serve Greater Victoria.

• Victoria — Hillside, 1006 Hillside Ave. Central and easy to reach from Saanich, Oak Bay, Fernwood, and Esquimalt. Victoria has among the highest everyday cycling rates in the country, and the protected lane network keeps expanding — which makes it one of the more natural places in Canada to replace a car trip with a ride.
• Victoria — Bridge St, 2612 Bridge St. Closer to the Inner Harbour and the downtown core, near the Galloping Goose. Good for riders whose routes run along the trail network rather than through traffic.

Between the two, most of the Capital Region is within a short ride of an OHM you can actually sit on.

What to expect on a test ride

A test ride is not a formality. It's the part of the process that decides whether you end up with a bike you ride three times a week or one that lives in the garage.

A few things worth doing when you visit:

• Ride the hill, not the parking lot. Ask to take the bike on something with a grade. Assist behaviour under load is where bikes separate.
• Try both frame styles. Step-thru and step-over ride differently, and the choice is about how you get on and off as much as how you look doing it.
• Bring what you carry. A pannier, a backpack, a child seat if that's the plan. Load changes handling.
• Ask about battery sizing. Our Bosch-equipped bikes ship with a standard battery that can be specified up if your commute is longer than average. That decision is easier to make with someone who can tell you what riders on your route actually chose.
• Ask about service. Where the bike gets its first tune-up, and who you call in year four, matters more than most people expect at the point of purchase.

What you'll find on the floor

Cit-E carries our current lineup, including the Discover Series — our Bosch Smart System commuters — alongside the Shimano-powered Journey, Cruise, and Quest models. Availability varies by location and season, so it's worth calling ahead if you have a specific model, colour, or frame size in mind.

One thing we'll note without embellishment: the Discover Lite has been sitting at the top of Cit-E's best-seller list. That's riders in BC, choosing a bike after comparing it against a wide multi-brand floor. We'll take that.
