Shimano Ultegra BR-R8170
The Shimano Ultegra BR-R8170 is a flat-mount hydraulic disc brake caliper with 10% more pad-to-rotor clearance for quieter running, and a separate bleed port that lets you bleed the system without removing the caliper from the frame. It suits road riders building or upgrading an Ultegra R8100-series disc setup, with front and rear versions available and rotors sold separately.
- The new ULTEGRA BR-R8170 hydraulic disc brake caliper has a refined brake caliper design, delivering a quieter brake system. The new brake calipers boast a 10% increase in pad to rotor clearance to reduce noise while a separate bleed port and valve screw improve the bleeding process so that it’s now possible to bleed the system without removing the caliper from the frame.
