We are pleased to have welcomed Court Rye from Electric Bike Review to our Canadian headquarters in North Vancouver.   Since 2010, Court has been writing comprehensive e-bike reviews with the aim of helping people find the right bike for their lifestyles and needs. During his visit we covered lots of local terrain, riding from the beach, through the city and even up into the mountains.

Shipping Spring 2018

We have been listening to our friends (also known as customers), and have been working hard to deliver the fantastic city ride they have been asking for.

What did we learn from their feedback?

• We want a step-thru model!

Step-thru? Great idea!  Aside from being cruiser-cool in aesthetic, a step-thru makes it MUCH easier to get on and off the bike

• A 16.5″ isn’t as maneuverable for more petite people to ride.  Is everyone at OHM a basketball player?

The answer? We are offering the City in a <5’4″ friendly 15″ model

•  A 500W motor is overkill for me.  

Vancouver resident Steve Vanderwoerd took advantage of Momentum Magazine’s Bicycle Lending Library last month and put some e-bikes to the test. His questions? Who might benefit from an e-bike? How long can the battery really go? How far can you get in an hour? And how much time (and energy!) can be saved when the grade kicks up? 

In his first post he talks big picture, looking at whether e-bikes are worthwhile and in the second, he puts an OHM e-bike to the test, commuting across Vancouver to Simon Fraser University, which just happens to be on the top of a mountain. He talks price, battery life and who he thinks could benefit most from an e-bike.
